For those about to redesign…We salute you!

I was recently blessed with the opportunity to see AC/DC in concert. However, this was no ordinary show. This was the final dress rehearsal before they kicked off their latest tour in many years. Now me being an AC/DC fan since I can remember, the opportunity to see them before anyone else was a dream come true. Plus this was my first time seeing them.

I know you are thinking, “What does AC/DC have to do with my website?” Well as I’m sure everyone knows AC/DC has been around for 35 years and counting and they continue to produce records and tour. They are still releasing new music and still competing to be the greatest rock band that has ever walked the planet. They could have thrown in the towel years ago and still been recognized as one of the best, but they refuse to quit.

Now for the e-commerce connection…

Your website may be generating you good money and maybe it is ranking very well in the major search engines, which is great. Should you quit now? ABSOLUTELY NOT! The world of e-commerce is changing just like the music industry. You must reinvent yourself or you can be just one of those websites who did well but aren’t legendary. Like I mentioned before AC/DC could have stopped years ago but they didn’t. They keep coming back with new music and back into the public eye. This is the same attitude you should approach with you website. You must have that hunger and passion about your business to be a player in this large industry which we call e-commerce.

In life my father had a saying he always told me before facing any tough situation. He said, “There will always be someone who is better than you. But when you face that someone, what you do to prepare for that meeting will determine the outcome.” This applies to everything I talked about in this post. AC/DC once started as a bunch of guys in a garage but they practiced what my father said to me and became larger than life itself.

Whoever is reading this, do me a favor. Take a look at your current website. Now look at your competitor’s website. What are they doing that you are not? What can you do better that you are already doing? These are questions you need to ask yourself everyday and continue to improve what needs to be improved. Don’t let your customers remember you being a good site when you could have been a great website that keeps them coming back.

I’m glad to see I’m not the only one sneaking AC/DC into my blog posts around here, haha.
